Projected Caracas museum to devote large place to Morocco
Morocco, Culture, 1/29/2000
Moroccan-born Jews settled in Venezuela are projecting to set up a museum in Caracas where a large place will be devoted to Morocco.
The museum project was presented in Rabat to Moroccan minister of cultural affairs, Mohamed Achari, by a delegation of this community which is currently visiting Morocco.
The delegation members who renewed attachment to Morocco, to the Moroccan monarchy as well as to their Moroccan identity and culture, were briefed on the efforts made by the culture department to preserve the Moroccan Jewish heritage and to refurbish Jewish landmarks in the kingdom.
The delegation-- including the chairman of the confederation of Israelite associations in Venezuela, the chairman of the Venezuelan-Moroccan chamber of commerce and industry and other religious and university figures-- had earlier conferred with minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, on trade exchanges, investments, partnership and cultural relations.
Means to attract Venezuelan investments to Morocco and advantages offered by the kingdom to foreign investors were equally discussed.
