US deputy secretary of commerce carries on visit to Morocco

US Deputy secretary of commerce Robert Mallett and public health minister visited Friday the Pfizer Laboratories in Casablanca which donated in Oct. 1999 Morocco 600.000 doses of the Zithromax antibiotic to fight the blinding disease trachoma.
In a conference on "American Affairs in the Maghreb: Challenges and opportunities," Mallett said the US government was impressed by the overture the kingdom was engaged in and moves to create jobs and upgrade the environment for foreign investment.
Mallett said Washington hailed reforms and transparency and would carry on the partnership geared towards attracting more investments through the "Investor's Roadmap" compiled by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
