Water cooperation between Jordan, Libya and Turkey
Jordan-Libya, Economics, 1/28/2000

Jordanian minister of waters Kamel Mahadin has stated that Jordanian experts will head for Libya to establish the foundations for developing cooperation between Amman and Tripoli in order to execute a key water project in the Kingdom.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Jordanian daily al-Doustour Mahadin said an agreement was reached with Libya on setting up joint technical teams that draw the wide outlines and a clear mechanism for cooperation in order to implement al-Deisi basin project. He added that a Jordanian technical delegation will head next week for Turkey in order to follow up cooperation between the two countries in the field of waters.

Last Saturday Mahadin visited Tripoli, accompanied by the Jordanian crown prince Hamzeh who handed over the Libyan President col. Muammar al-Qaddafi a message from the Jordanian King Abdullah II Bin al-Hussein.
