Egyptian minister rejects normalization
Egypt, Politics, 1/28/2000
Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni has renewed his opposition to cultural normalization with Israel or visiting it.
Hosni said in an interview with the Monte Carlo radio on Tuesday that until now he has not visited Israel and will not visit it in future. He added, "I have completely recognized that cultural normalization is in the first place an economic position."
Hosni asserted his adherence to his stand because such a stand is adopted by all Arab intellectuals, adding that refusing normalization with Israel is both an Arab and Egyptian interest, SANA reported.
