Group of Moroccan-born Jews settled in Venezuela visit Rabat
Morocco-Venezuela, Politics, 1/28/2000
A delegation of Moroccan-born Jews settled in Venezuela is currently visiting Morocco for talks on cooperation prospects between the two countries.
The delegation-- including the chairman of the confederation of Israelite associations in Venezuela, the chairman of the Venezuelan-Moroccan chamber of commerce and industry and other religious and university figures-- conferred in Rabat Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mohamed Benaissa on trade exchanges, investments, partnership and cultural relations.
Means to attract Venezuelan investments to Morocco and advantages offered by the kingdom to foreign investors were equally discussed, Benaissa told MAP after the meeting.
Benaissa said the Moroccan-born Jews can play a key role in informing the Latin American public opinion on Morocco, on its causes and especially on the issue of its territorial integrity.
He announced that coming spring in Morocco will be that of Latin America at the official level and at the level of the private sector as well. Several Latin American delegations are expected in Morocco in the coming months, he said.
