A plan to increase number of Egyptian airports to 30

The Egyptian transportation and tourism ministries stated making a plan to increase the number of airports to 30 in Egypt from 19, according to the instructions of President Hosni Mubarak who made a new strategy for tourism development to confront the effects of the severe competition with Israel, Jordan, Tunisia, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey and Spain.
The plan also included developing the exisiting tourism airports and executive steps to establish three new airports will begin in Dahab, Siwa and El-Ain El-Sokhna in addition to developing the airports of Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada to deal with the increase in regular air trips to these areas.
