Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss addressed today cables of thanks to Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi, Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and Boutros Ghali, the secretary general of the Franophony organization.
In his cables, al-Hoss expressed his gratitude for the efforts they exerted to the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Laurent Kabila, to pardon two Lebanese citizens-- Sami Yasin and Khalil Ghadban-- who were recently sentenced to death in the Congo for the high treason and smuggling diamonds and weapons.
