Morocco to host coming IPU conference

Morocco said it was ready to host one of the coming statutory conferences of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU) held every six months, IPU sources in Geneva said.
IPU secretary general Anders Johnsson told MAP the invitation from the Moroccan house of representatives will be endorsed by the Amman Conference which opens late August 2000.
Morocco hosted the second session of the preparatory committee for national parliament speakers' conference slated for end of August in New York. The third and last session of the committee convenes here next Monday and Tuesday with active participation of a Moroccan delegation led by the speaker of the house of representatives Abdelouahed Radi.
