Israel wants Syria to hand over remains of spy Eli Cohen

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak stated on Tuesday that Israel wants the remains of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, who was strangled in 1975 in Syria, to be restored in the framework of a peace agreement.
Upon his meeting with Cohen's widow, Nadia Cohen, Barak announced, "I fully understand what it means for you to restore back Eli's remains to Israel. This matter is also important for all the state of Israel."
Barak added in front of 20 journalists, "We are working to reach this goal," stressing that the Israeli government is responsible for the "return of Eli's remains to be buried in Israel so his family will be able to visit his tomb.
During the meeting between Barak and Cohen's widow a stamp bearing Eli Cohen's picture was released.
