Sudan People's Liberation Movement withdraw all its leaders from regional capitals
Sudan, Politics, 1/26/2000
Sources in the Sudan People's Liberation Movement told ArabicNews.com that the movement took many important decisions in its recent public conference, the most serious of which is withdrawing all its leaders from regional capitals to southern Sudan to run the SPLM's political and military work from there and to keep a simple representation that does not exceed three persons in each country.
The sources said the decision excluded women and the children because of their educational attachments and to join their families when the circumstances are proper to return to southern Sudan.
The sources stated that the movement reorganized its regulating structure in what is similar to an internal coup d'etat as the conference formed a leadership front of 13 persons to be the supreme front in the movement and in the Sudanese People's Liberation Army headed by John Garang and deputized by leader Silva Care.
This front also comprised Yusef Kowa, Ding Acol, Malek Affar, Daniel Ding, Bavan Amoum, James Wani and others.
Another executive office was formed with six persons to run the administrative, financial and development affairs in the south.
