Serious problems confront Palestinian education sector
Palestine-Regional, Education, 1/26/2000
The Palestinian delegation participating in the regional Arab conference "Education for everybody" currently being held in Cairo stated that the Palestinian government is facing a number of problems concerning expenditures in the education sector.
In a report to the conference, the delegation said that on top of these problems is the Palestinian government's lack of control over Palestinian resources, a large part of which are still under the occupation authority's domination which attaches the Palestinian and Israeli economies.
The report said that this status resulted in limiting the Palestinian government's capability to adopt the proper distribution of resources and that the Palestinian budget largely depends on donors, which is not a stable source.
