Yemen intends to join COMESA

Yemen has asserted its desire to join the organization of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajmal said his country intends to present a formal request to join COMESA, aiming at developing Yemen's relations with eastern and southern Africa.
Bajmal is due to head to the Eritrean capital, Asmara, during the coming days carrying a message from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki concerning bilateral relations and the new developments in the regional arena.
