Morocco-Canada, Health, 1/26/2000
A Canadian hospital shipped Tuesday to Morocco 1.3 tons of drugs for needy cancer patients, in an initiative by Henry El Baz, a Moroccan-born physician who heads the Jewish hospital of Montreal.
The donation is part of a solidarity campaign with the poor held last month in Morocco. It is being shipped free by the Moroccan air company Royal Air Maroc.
Several Canadian laboratories and non-governmental organizations have contributed to this donation worth US $45,000 (4.5 million DH). The aid will go to Moroccan associations which help needy cancer patients.
