Twelve gunmen killed in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Tuesday that 12 citizens were killed and six wounded at a false barrier installed by the armed groups in Bin Alal district in al-Defli area, 146 km from the Algerian capital.
The paper indicated that the armed groups were disguising in military uniforms and stopped a passengers coach and then opened fire on it.
Meanwhile, the paper reported that 12 gunmen from the armed groups were killed and other 17 arrested during mopping-up operations carried out by the armed forces in Gleizan district, 300 km from the capital Algiers.
Algerian security sources said on Tuesday that 700 members of the Islamic Salvation Army have surrendered to the authorities since the issuing of the pardoning law.
