Minor ministerial reshuffle in Oman
Oman, Politics, 1/26/2000

Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman on Tuesday released two decrees. The first merged the ministries of communications and housing into one ministry under the name "the Ministry of Transport and Housing," and according to this decree he appointed Malik Bin Suleiman al-Mamari as the minister for this new ministry.

The Gulf News Agency said the decree also amended the name of the Ministry of Posts, Telegraphs, and Telephones into the Ministry of Telecommunications, and Sheikh Suheil Bin Mustahil Bin Salem Beit Shammas was appointed as its minister.

The second decree appointed Salem Bin Abdullah al-Ghazali, who had previously held the post of communication minister to be a special advisor to Sultan Qaboos.
