President Mubarak yesterday received Malaysian Foreign Minister Sayed Hamid el Ber.

He said the President discussed the G-15 Summit which would be held in Cairo next June and aspects of developing relations with the G-15 members which have emerging markets.

Moussa said the Malaysian Prime Minister invited President Mubarak to visit Malaysia.

Foreign Minister Amr Moussa Monday said that his talks with his Malaysian counterpart Syed Hamid El-Ber had tackled several issues pertaining to the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and third world issues.

Addressing a joint press conference with el-Ber, Moussa described their meeting as very important. He added that their talks dwelt on international trade, the situation in Iraq and the Mid East peace process.

The Malaysian official said he shared identical viewpoints with Moussa over all issues and underlined that more cooperation should be realized in order to make use of the distinguished bilateral relations.

The visiting Minister stressed the importance of boosting bilateral trade and to resume meetings of a joint committee. Moussa hinted that trade exchange will reach 500 million dollars in 2000 and could be doubled.

The UN Security Council tried to reach a solution to evade the current problem, said el-Ber, commenting on a question on Iraq.

He pointed out that his country had abstained from voting on a resolution on Iraq because it did not provide an end to the sufferings of children and women.

The Malaysian Foreign Minister stressed the need to reach a credible and satisfactory resolution on Iraq.
