Canada-based Moroccans collect funds for disabled compatriots

The Moroccan community based in the Canadian province of Quebec are collecting funds for Moroccan disabled persons in Morocco. The operation to close next February 29 is targeting 100,000 Canadian dollars in cash and donations of medical equipment. A Moroccan monthly and other associations of Moroccans living in Canada are behind the initiative that also included a north african music concert. The concert attracted 300 guests who braved the cold to support the cause.
The solidarity move is backed by renowned figures from Quebec, the Moroccan embassy in Canada and Morocco's general consulate in Montreal.
