Arab reconciliation, responsibility of all Arab states
Regional-Morocco, Politics, 1/25/2000

Speaker of the House of Representatives (lower house of the Moroccan Parliament) Abdelouahed Radi told Lebanese magazine Al Moharrir News that all Arab states should shoulder the responsibility of Arab reconciliation and must overcome rather than exacerbate past differences.

Radi deemed the materialization of an Arab political and economic grouping "a difficult dream to reach" in the absence of positive and practical actions.

After he recalled that Europe established its unity by addressing causes of war, Radi said Arab reconciliation needs a culture of compromise and reciprocal concessions.

He added that unlike Arab governments, Arab parliaments have succeeded in scoring positive results.

In his interview, Radi also touched on domestic issues with a special emphasis on the political and economic situation in Morocco.
