Czech support for Mubarak's call to free ME from mass destruction weapons

Czech Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Jan Kavan Sunday voiced his country's support for President Hosni Mubarak's call to render the Middle East free from all kinds of weapons of mass destruction.
In an interview with Middle East News Agency MENA, Kavan said achievement of progress in the Middle East peace march will help realize this goal.
"The Czech Republic is also upholding Mubarak's initiative to fight international terrorism and all efforts exerted in this regard," he said.
"Contacts are under way between the Egyptian and Czech interior ministries to coordinate those efforts," he added.
Kavan said his talks today with Foreign Minister Amr Moussa will mainly center on bilateral relations and the latest developments in the peace process.
He termed as "very good" Egyptian-Czech relations, noting that Egypt is the second biggest trade partner for his country in the Arab world after the UAE.
"The Czech Republic is ready to participate in mega national projects in Egypt such as the Toshka project," he said.
Speaker of the Shura Council Moustafa Kamal Helmi Sunday met with Kavan and his delegation.
Helmi briefed the delegation on parliamentary life in Egypt and the role played by the Shura (consultative) Council in promoting parliamentary activities, Egypt's stable stances vis-a-vis various Arab and international issues, President Hosni Mubarak`s role in quest of just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East and his call for rendering the region free of weapons of mass destruction.
The two sides further studied means of boosting bilateral relations in the political, economic and technical domains.
Kavan paid tribute to President Mubarak's wise leadership and praised Egypt's pioneer and distinguished role in the peacemaking in particular and vis-a-vis international issues in general.
