Government's anti-corruption program seeks to improve government - business relations
Morocco, Politics, 1/24/2000

The Moroccan government has worked out an anti-corruption program that seeks to improve the business environment, to monitor activities of the private sector, to promote loyal competitiveness and to improve relations between the government and business.

The remarks were made by minister in charge of the government's general affairs, Ahmed Lahlimi, in a statement to the Moroccan TV channel TVM.

The program also seeks to reform the administration and to build up trust between the administration and citizens, the official said, pointing out that corruption is a serious obstacle to investments in addition to the fact that it harms citizens' dignity.

Sensitization campaigns to the negative effects of corruption are also provided by the program, Lahlimi said adding that struggle against corruption must become a daily practice involving everybody.
