Saudi petroleum minister will not attend Davos summit

Official Gulf sources said yesterday that Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ibrahim Naimi will not attend the meeting of the economic forum in Davos, Switzerland this month. An official in the US Department of Energy said that US Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson will hold informal talks with the petroleum ministers of Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Kuwait, which are members of OPEC, on the margins of the Davos economic forum between January 27 and February 1.
Political leaders, high-ranking economists and cultured people will meet in Davos forum summit to discuss international economic issues.
