Libya signs several trade agreements

Meetings of the Libyan economic activists with a delegation of economic activists from Singapore started on Sunday in Tripoli. The visiting delegation includes more than 15 companies specialized in several fields.

The program of the Singapore delegation during the visit includes several meetings to discuss cooperation between Libya and Singapore in the areas of trade, industry and investment.

Meanwhile, the Libyan secretary of the people's committee for communications and transport, Izz al-Din al-Muhammad al-Hinshiri, discussed with the Russian ambassador to Libya, Sergy Yukim, the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries, relating to having passengers and shipping planes, modernizing the Libyan air fleets and establishing workshops for training cadres and maintenance for the Libyans in this regard.

Al-Hinshiri announced that Libya decided to buy a group of Russian planes of various sizes for passengers and air shipping.

The Libyan minister also discussed with the Chinese ambassador to Libya relations between the two countries in the field of transport and communications. During the meeting, the two sides declared the establishment of the joint Libyan- Chinese committee which will be assigned the task of implementing the railway project linking Libya to several African countries.

The Libyan minister stated that this project extends from the Libyan- Tunisian borders in Raas Jadid to the Libyan- Egyptian borders in Amsaed city and from Syrte to the city of Sabha and from there to several African states.
