Qatar refused to receive Barak

The Qatari daily al-Rayah said on Saturday that Qatar has refused a request made by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to visit it. The paper reported that Barak had asked through diplomatic sources, which it did not disclose, to visit Qatar before the beginning of Syrian-Israeli negotiations in December 1999, adding that his request was rejected despite the need for this visit.
