Egyptian neglect in promoting exports to affluent Japan

The Japanese foreign trade organization, Jetro, said that it is still waiting for a plan to be presented by Egypt to develop Egyptian exports to the Japanese market despite of the passage of three months since the two sides' agreement on implementing a campaign.

Official sources in Jetro's office in Cairo stated that the Japanese side previously said that the year 2000 is Egypt's in Japan and showed a great enthusiasm for the program to promote Egyptian exports as being the first program that will be subsidized for a developing country.

The official sources in Jetro expressed their anxiety that the strategic goods that will be focused on in the Japanese market are not yet determined, nor the the groups the two sides agreed to form among Egyptian and Japanese businessmen working in Japanese companies in Egypt.
