African organization appoints new acting chief
Morocco-Africa, Politics, 1/22/2000
The board of governors of the African center of administration training and research for development, CAFRAD, on Friday appointed Tijani Muhammad Bande (Nigeria) as director general in replacement of Mohammad Ahmad Wali, who is now Nigeria's ambassador to Argentina.
The new chief will hold the position for the 11 remaining months of his co-citizen term.
Moroccan civil service minister, Aziz Hussein, who opened on Friday the 38th session of the Tangiers-based CAFRAD, deplored the lack of human and material resources that cripples the organization's role in research and as a forum for African administration ministers and experts to exchange viewpoints.
The meeting is scheduled to adopt the report of the precedent governing board meeting, reports of the director general activities and of financial inspector and a report from the executive committee on the center's financial situation.
