IMF ready to help Algeria

The Director General of the International Monetary Fund, Michael Camdessus, currently visiting Algeria, has asserted the fund's readiness to help Algeria in all fields and that Algeria has to decide its needs according to the program of the new government.
The IMF chief added the Algerians have to realize that they have today a historic chance to achieve a leap towards progress under the improvement of security conditions in the country.
Camdessus specified two conditions for revitalizing the Algerian economy: resuming reforms toward openness and achieving peace to attract investors.
He stated that Algeria can be permitted to get supply sources at low costs or at a low interest rate to accelerate development operations.
