Moroccan organization calls france to suspend expulsion of emigrants having family members in france
Morocco, Politics, 1/20/2000
The Moroccan human rights organization (OMDH) called French authorities to suspend expulsion measures against Moroccan emigrants whose parents or children are settled in France.
The organization said the "inhumane" expulsion measure contradicts the principle of family reunion, citing the case of Moroccan Abdelhafid Bodhi who was expelled from France last December and who died in a car accident on January 11 in Morocco.
OMDH said the Moroccan man lived in France for 30 years and had a nine-year old child whose mother obtained the French nationality.
It also asked for the lifting of the expulsion measure against two Moroccan brothers, Noreddine and Redouane Zaki. All of their family members have the French citizenship. The two men who only speak French are living a tragedy since their expulsion to Morocco.
The Organization denounced the Pasqua laws (named after an ex interior minister) as contrary to France's international commitments and to the European human rights convention.
