Morocco to set up women information and training center

Moroccan secretary of state for social protection, family and childhood, Mohamed Said Saadi, announced on Wednesday that his department is projecting to set up a national information, documentation and training center on women issues.
The official made the announcement during a meeting in Kenitra university (40 km north of Rabat) on the creation of a UNESCO university chair and a network on women studies.
He said the project will get assistance from the European Union and that all ministerial departments will have cells in charge of monitoring the respect of gender equality.
He also announced the holding next February of an Arab-African colloquy on women and challenges of the 21st century.
