Morocco and international telecom group conclude training partnership convention

Morocco's office of vocational training "OFPPT" and Medi Telecom -- which operates Morocco's second GSM license-- signed on Wednesday a partnership convention in training and employment.

Under the accord, Medi Telecom-- a consortium composed of Spanish Telefonica, Telecom Portugal, Morocco BMCE Bank and Afriquia Gas distributor Group-- pledges to hire 700 young graduates over 3 years, including 200 this year.

Medi telecom will also contribute training equipment and programs to develop disciplines of telecommunication and new information technologies and help obtain certification in GSM for the OFPPT's instructors.

The consortium has won a 15-year license to operate the second GSM network in Morocco for about $ 1.8 Bln.
