Jordanian foreign minister to visit Moscow next month

Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul al-Illah al-Khatib will visit Moscow on February 2 to fulfill an official invitation he received from his Russian counterpart, Igor Ivanov, to discuss bilateral relations and means of boosting them, as well as the peace process, its new developments and the situation in the area.
A Jordanian official statement said yesterday that al-Khatib will also discuss during his visit the situation in Chechnya in light of Jordan's position concerning this issue, with the importance of stopping military actions immediately, respecting the rights of the Chechen people, ending the humanitarian suffering they are exposed to and reaching a political solution without resorting to the use of force.
