Mubarak receives Cook

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak received British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook who is currently visiting Cairo on a short tour of the Middle East, which he commenced in Jordan.
Cook convened with Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa and the supreme Imam, Sayed Tantawi, Sheikh of Al Azhar, and they held discussions concerning religion.
Cook and Mubarak discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, the Iraqi problem, the situation in Sudan and bilateral Egyptian - British relations.
British sources said there is an approach in the points of view between the UK and Egypt concerning Sudan and the reconciliation made by Egypt and Libya, adding that the UK supports the Egyptian - Libyan initiative.
