The European Commission on Wednesday asked Libya to approve the Barcelona process on the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
The spokesman for the European Commission in Brussels, Ricardo Levy, said in a comment on a possible visit by Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gaddafi to Brussels that, "What the EU commission wants is the realization of a main progress in the relations between Libya and Europe and the international community."
Levy added, "Achieving this objective is the grounds on which we work to make sure that this visit as such is suitable."
