Syrian- Turkish normalization proceeds slowly

The Turkish daily Hurrieyet said on Tuesday that the normalization process in Syrian- Turkish relations is improving slowly since the expulsion of the leader of the Kurdistani Workers Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, from Syria.
In this respect, the paper indicated a telephone call recently made between Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa and his Turkish counterpart, Ismael Cem during which Cem was informed about the latest developments concerning the peace talks between Syria and Israel.
The Turkish paper added that a delegation from the Turkish Foreign Ministry will head for Syria at the end of the current month to hold talks with Syrian officials.
