President Arap Moi gets message from King Mohammed
Morocco-Kenya, Sports, 1/19/2000

President Daniel Arap Moi of Kenya received Wednesday a message from King Mohammed VI relating to Morocco's bid to host the final rounds of the football World Cup in 2006.

The message was handed over to the minister of home affairs, heritage and sports, Noah Katana Ngola, by the acting president of the Moroccan 2006 World Cup Promotion Committee, Driss Benhima, currently touring several English-speaking countries inviting support for the Moroccan bid.

The Kenyan minister said Morocco has all it takes to stage the world event given its record and rank in world football recalling performances in Mexico in 1970 and 1986 and how RAJA of Casablanca was the first african squad to take part in the first World Club Championships in Brazil this year.

Moroccan contenders for the 2006 event are South-Africa, Brazil, Germany and England.
