Meeting to follow up on applying executive program for Arab free trade zone

Meetings of heads and managers of customs in the Arab states started yesterday at Arab League headquarters to follow up on applying the executive program for the greater Arab free trade zone through end of 1999 and other economic subjects.

Abd El Rahman El Sahibani, the assistant secretary general for economic affairs in the Arab League, said the meeting will tackle the results of the work of the customs data committee, the results of the coordination committee's work, and the customs reductions for the free trade zone, as well as the exceptions to the commercial goods.

Sahibani said the commercial reductions on the Arab goods exchanged among the Arab states for the free Arab trade zone through end of 1999 reached 20% and that for year 2000.
