British foreign secretary to arrive in Cairo tonight

British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook is to arrive tonight for an official visit to Egypt, during which he will be received by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Cook will also hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Amr Moussa, and pay a visit to the supreme Imam, Mohammed Sayed Tantawi, Sheik of Al Azhar, with whom he will tackle the discussion among the religions.

Cook will visit the Mar Gerges archeological area in Egypt, and it is decided that he will make an open discussion with some officials in the Foreign Ministry, the Arab League, intellectuals, editors-in-chief of the Egyptian newspapers, professors of universities in addition to members of the British - Egyptian business association.
