Permanent committee for Arab information demands expansion of use of satellites

The permanent committee for Arab information under the chairmanship of Egyptian expert Amin Basuini discussed in its meetings yesterday in Cairo, Egypt means of developing Arab coordination in the Arab information field.
Mohab Mokhbel, the assistant secretary general for information affairs in the Arab League, stated that the Arab information ministers ratified an integral strategy for the existence of Arab information in the international arena and for providing advanced services to Arab citizens.
Mokhbel said the meetings also tackled the importance of cooperation among Arab satellite stations, whether governmental or private, to reach foreign viewers to raise a real image of the Arab character and to identify the Arab culture.
