Egyptian actor appointed as an ambassador for the UNHCR

Egyptian actor Adel Imam was officially appointed on Tuesday in Cairo as an ambassador for the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) for the Middle East and North Africa.
Imam, whose recent film "Hello America" broke records in the cinema halls, is the first an Arab appointed to this post for the UNHCR.
Imam told journalists in a ceremony organized by the UNHCR's office in Cairo that his mission will include collecting funds and visits to the refugee centers in the region. He added that his visit will start with visiting a camp for Somali refugees in Yemen.
