AL chief confers with Algerian minister

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid on Tuesday in Cairo discussed with the Algerian Foreign Minister Youcef Yousfi the latest developments concerning conditions in Algeria.

In press statements following the meeting, the AL chief stressed the AL's wish to achieve peace and national concord in Algeria. He commended the efforts made by Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to achieve civil concord.

He said that the AL is following up on the efforts made to achieve concord and stability in Algeria and renew its backing to Algeria's legitimacy and ruling system.

For his part, Yousfi said he had briefed the AL chief on the positive developments that took place in connection to the establishment of the civil concord and national reconciliation policy in Algeria and the positive results attained on the level of national work and stability in Algeria. He said he also discussed with the AL chief the latest developments concerning Arab conditions.
