US Congress staffers hail Moroccan government reforms
Morocco-USA, Politics, 1/18/2000

A group of US congress staffers, currently visiting Morocco, hailed on Monday economic, social and political reforms undertaken by the Moroccan government.

The US party, which was meeting Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi, said the US administration grants a special importance to Morocco's modernization efforts and to establish free-trade in the southern Mediterranean countries.

Youssoufi praised the excellent US-Morocco relations, citing the Eizenstat initiative that aims to create a free-trade area between Maghreb countries and the USA. Youssoufi also called for development of economic and trade ties between the two countries.
