Solana and the Middle East peace

The secretary general of the EU council, Javier Solana, has asserted the need of mobilizing the European and American efforts to provide a success for the Middle East peace process.
In an interview with the Israeli daily Haartez issued on Monday, Solana added that the Europeans are in close contact with the US in order to formulate ideas for the future of the region and to discuss the contributions that each side can offer, adding that the aim of their visit to the region is know what is expected from them and how such expectations can be materialized.
He stated that the European Union is trying to find the proper atmosphere for peace in the Middle East and help establish bilateral or regional projects.
