Improvement in Iraqi child Mariam's health after being treated in Jordan
Iraq, Politics, 1/17/2000
The Iraqi child Mariam left yesterday a center for treating cancer in the Jordanian capital, Amman, coming back home after finishing a treatment that lasted two-and-a-half months.
Kenan El-Hajri, one of the supervisors of the child's treatment, said her health has become stable, but she will not be able to regain her sight which she lost last summer. El-Hajri said she will continue suffering from a shrinkage in the nerves, adding that no one can predict whether Mariam (age 6) will be able to live for a long time.
