Government opens investment vistas to young investors; made-in-Egypt production

Prime Minister Atef Ebeid Sunday met with young investors. The meeting is part of the government`s plan to qualify youth and open fresh vistas before the young investors to enable them carry their role in building the national economy.
The young investors invited to the meeting were members of the young exporters association, the Social Fund for Development's beneficiaries, founders of projects financed by the Local Development Fund, young members of the cooperative union, and owners of private projects.
SFD Head, Hussein Gamal and General Investment Authority President, Mohamed Ghamrawi attended the meeting.
Ebeid said that President Mubarak wants to sustain development and achieve future goals through expanding areas of investment and increase the number of businessmen capable of opening new fields, notably in information technology and computer software.
Some of the issues tackled, are of concern to the Ministries of Finance and Economy, others to industry, communications, banking, local development, manpower, training,and tourism.
Among the issues reviewed is how to boost demand for made-in-Egypt products, provide young investors with incentives, and qualify them to deal with the World Trade Organization principles.
The meeting dealt with need to have access to the data bases managed by several authorities, improve ways of running loans given to young businessmen, regulate the relationship with localities, and adopt open and stable approaches in issuing licenses.
