New explosion in the Sudanese petroleum pipeline

A new explosion targeted the popeline transporting Sudanese raw petroleum in east Sudan.
The opposition military political regulation announced its responsibility for the attack, due to which a fire broke out and large quantities of petroleum spilled and exports of Sudanese petroleum stopped.
The Sudanese officials said the explosion made a three-meter cut in the petroleum pipeline and that it will take two days to fix the damage to resume pumping the petroleum.
Sudan started exporting petroleum only at end of last year as petroleum become an important source of obtaining foreign currency.
An attack took place on a petroleum pipeline in September 1999, for which the opposition Democratic National Allaince was blamed.
