Trade federation denounces EU tomato import requirements
Morocco-European Union, Politics, 1/17/2000
The federation of trade, industry and service chambers (FCCIS) said it opposed the European Union decision to require import certificates for Moroccan tomatoes as of this month.
The move, the federation says, is contrary to mutual commitment to marshal partnership preserving the interests of both sides, says a release in which FCCIS voices solidarity with Moroccan producers and exporters saying the decision would definitely have an adverse impact on Moroccan economy.
The federation also says it will work with the EU trade and industry chambers in Brussels and the European chambers network to have the decision canceled by the commission.
