Jordanian king confers with world's Armenian Catholics

King Abdullah II of Jordan met on Sunday in Amman with Catholicos Karekin II of the Armenian Orthodox Church and members of the accompanying delegation. The Catholicos expressed the appreciation of the Armenian Orthodox community for the great care they receive in Jordan.
King Abdullah welcomed the visit of the Armenian Catholicos to Jordan, especially as it is his first visit out of Armenia after he was elected the Catholicos of the world's Armenians.
King Abdullah invested the Armenian Catholicos with the Jordanian order of merit, first class.
In an earlier meeting with the Armenian Catholicos the Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh stressed Jordan's backing to just and comprehensive peace and its attempts to achieve it so as the peoples of the Middle East will enjoy security, prosperity and stability.
