Moroccan fruit and vegetable producers prospect new markets
Morocco, Agriculture, 1/15/2000
The director of the Moroccan export promotion center (CMPE) voiced Friday satisfaction at Moroccan participation in the international fruit and vegetable fair "Fruit Logistica" hosted Jan. 13-15 by Berlin.
The event, he said, definitely opens new opportunities to increase and diversify markets and outlets for Moroccan produce. The "Green Week" in Berlin gave greater visibility to Morocco's products, but more is expected from the specialized "Fruit Logistica," he stated.
Indeed, says Derrab, secretary general of ASPAM, citrus producers' association, Moroccan exporters of fruits and vegetables are eager to reinvest the German market as of next year and make up for lost ground.
Moroccan stands in Berlin were very successful in terms of attendance, and the few coming weeks will tell and show the impact of the kingdom's presence in the German capital, he said.
