Congress staffers leave Rabat on two-day tour in Laayoun

The delegation of the American congress staffers led by Congressman Howard Coble flew south Friday on a two day information tour to the Laayoun province and meetings with Moroccan local authorities, ambassador in charge of coordination with MINURSO, Mohamed Loulichki, and William Eagleton, special representative of the UN secretary general for the Sahara.
Visits to major socioeconomic achievements and projects are also slated.
On Thursday, the delegation was told by the speaker of the house of representatives Abdelouahed Radi how the kingdom needed more new technology, capital and know-how to enhance economy using its own resources to upgrade living standards and invited more investments into a country that boasts political stability at the gates of European and African markets.
Cooperation secretary of state Aicha Belarbi briefed the party on Moroccan foreign policy and action through the Moroccan international cooperation agency and renewed the kingdom's full cooperation and support for the UN settlement plan which ought to guarantee the right of all Moroccans of Sahrawi origin to take part in the referendum.
