Iraqi popular resistance kills 10 Iraqi officials
Iraq, Politics, 1/15/2000

The Iraqi Communist Party said on Friday that the Iraqi people's resistance killed in December last year ten officials in the Iraqi government, members of the ruling Baath Party in Baghdad as well as army officers.

AFP quoted the party as saying in a statement that the people's resistance stormed residences belonging to the branch of Waset province of the ruling Baath party and killed "four of the mercenaries who often carry out barbaric measures against the citizens of the area."

The statement added that four employees of the government were assassinated in al-Ramadi during vast operations carried out by opposition members from the people of the province and that two Iraqi army officers were killed in attacks waged by the Iraqi people's resistance against an air defense base in Baghdad and a military base in al-Nasereyah province in Wasat.
