Kuwait's governor under the Iraqi invasion returns to Kuwait

On Thursday at midnight, Alaa Hassan, who was appointed by the Iraqi government as ruler of Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990 arrived at Kuwait's airport.

The Kuwaiti daily al-Watan said that Alaa Hussein arrived at the airport together with four of his children and with a Norwegian passport on the Dutch airline, KLM.

The paper continued that Alaa Hussein stood before the passport department officer calmly, saying, "I am a Kuwaiti citizen. I am coming back to my country. Summon me and interrogate me if you like, but leave my children go to my family who are waiting outside."

The Kuwaiti paper added that more than 17 of Alaa Hussein's relatives were waiting for him at the hall of Kuwait's airport.
